Written Journalism
hidden legacies: Lynchings in the north
As part of NYU’s Hidden Legacies: Lynchings in the North project, I research and write about victims of racial terror across the Northeast and Midwest. My work combines archival investigation with narrative journalism to recover forgotten lives and challenge how history is remembered. I wrote the obituary of William Donnegan, a Black abolitionist and businessman whose 1908 lynching in Springfield, Illinois, helped spark the founding of the NAACP.
IntERNATIONAL RELATIONS INSIDER
As a journalist for NYU’s International Relations Insider, I covered global politics and diplomacy through firsthand reporting in China, Cuba, Italy, Ukraine, Mexico, and Brazil. My work explored how regional alliances and public opinion shape foreign policy, including stories on Latin America’s response to the Israel-Hamas conflict and Russian disinformation in the region. I’ve interviewed leaders like former Mexican Foreign Secretary Jorge G. Castañeda and reported with a focus on context, accuracy, and international perspective.
Washington square News
As a food reporter for NYU’s Washington Square News, I covered New York City’s restaurants and culinary culture, from Caribbean–Thai fusion spots to plant-based Ethiopian kitchens. I profiled chefs, explored food trends across the five boroughs, and developed a storytelling style that connects cuisine to community.
Follow me on Substack
I publish political analysis and reported features on Substack, where I also founded Trotter—an independent publication that gives writers around the world a space to cover local news without institutional gatekeeping. My work spans grassroots politics, global affairs, and media criticism, including stories like “A Grassroots Gamble” on outsider campaigns in New York and “China’s Objectives in Cuba” on Sino-Caribbean relations.
